Why we built FieldFlow (and why it costs $19)

FieldFlow started with a simple frustration: the tools that exist for small trades businesses are either too expensive, too complicated, or both.

The problem we kept seeing

If you run a plumbing, HVAC, electrical, or general contracting business with a handful of employees, your software options are pretty grim. You can pay $149/month for Housecall Pro and still not get expense tracking. You can use Jobber at $29/month but the moment you add a second technician, you’re bumped to $119/month. Or you can try to stitch together QuickBooks, Google Calendar, a shared spreadsheet, and prayer.

We talked to dozens of trades business owners. The same story came up over and over: “I know I should use software, but it’s either too expensive or I don’t have time to figure it out.”

Why per-user pricing is broken

Most field service software charges per user. That means you’re punished for growing. Hire a new apprentice? That’s another $29/month. Bring on a part-time helper for summer? Another seat fee. That’s a harder sell when you’re watching every dollar.

$19/month is low enough that it pays for itself after a single invoice gets paid a few days faster. And it’s high enough that we can build a sustainable business without venture capital pressure to raise prices.
